The different organs and the body as a whole will work better if the Doshas are in balance.

As with other Ayurvedic treatments, the Dosha also tells you what’s wrong with your skin. Let’s look at the different ways each Dosha affects the skin.

1. Vata Dosha

Vata skin is more likely to be rough and dry, so it needs to be moisturised often. Moisturizers with a little bit of oil in them work great for this type of skin. Ashwagandha supplements may also be helpful for this skin condition.

2. Pitta Dosha

The skin type of a pitta Dosha is the exact opposite of that of a vata Dosha. When Pitta is the most important Dosha, a person’s skin may be oily, and they are more likely to have allergies and other skin problems. On this kind of skin, you should use treatments that cool the skin, such as aloe vera and sandalwood.

3. Kapha Dosha

The Kapha skin type is quite similar to that of a Pitta person. Oily skin is prone to acne and other skin concerns. This skin type benefits greatly from exfoliation. There are different names which are more common that one might be aware of. Following are the simplified and popular terms for these skin types.

4. Dry skin

When people talk about “dry” skin, they mean skin that makes less sebum than normal skin. Dry skin doesn’t have enough lipids to hold in moisture and make a barrier against the outside world. This is mainly because there isn’t enough sebum. Because of this, the barrier can’t do its job. Dry skin, or xerosis, comes in many different forms and levels of severity that aren’t always easy to tell apart. How wet our skin is depends on how much we sweat and how much water gets into the deeper layers.

5. Normal skin

The word “normal” means that your skin is in a good state. People with this type of skin may have an oily T-zone, which is the area around their forehead, nose, and chin. Even so, sebum and moisture in the skin are in balance. Under these conditions, the skin would be neither too dry nor too oily. Normal skin has small pores and a soft, velvety, smooth texture, which makes it easy for blood to flow.

6. Oily skin

Many times, the word “oily” is used to describe skin that makes more sebum. Oily skin often has larger pores that are easy to see and shine brightly. One of the other things it has is a light skin tone. In this case, it may not be possible to see the blood vessels. Oily skin is prone to blackheads, whiteheads, and many different types of acne. Mild acne can show up on the face, neck, shoulders, chest, and back.

7. Combination skin

The T-zone and cheeks of these skin types come in many different shapes and sizes, from a very small area to a much bigger one. The oilier parts of mixed skin are caused by the body making too much sebum. The combination skin could be dry because it doesn’t have enough sebum or lipids.

Exfoliate your skin using natural ingredients
